From time to time NASDU Head Office receive calls from dog owners who for a variety of reasons need to re-home their dogs.
Many of these have been referred by the RSPCA/Battersea Dogs Home to NASDU as the breed of dog may be suitable as a Security Dog.
The following contains the contact details of these dog owners for which we ask you to contact the owner direct.
NASDU offers nor implies any guarantee of suitability and it is the responsibility of the enquirer to ascertain the reason for the dog being re-homed and its suitability.
The service is provided free of charge to members of NASDU and users of its website, all we ask is that if a dog is re-homed then you contact NASDU so we can amend the site.
Jackson is a tanned/black German Shepherd, he is 3.5 years old. He’s big and boisterous. I don’t know much about his background as my gramps has only had the dog for a month, but what I was told is that Jackson was taken away from a home as he was being used as their guard dog and was brought up in an aggressive manner in order to protect the house, he was then rehomed to another lady who couldn’t handle him, he was then rehomed to the people we got him from – the reason for them rehoming him was because he didn’t get along with their dog they already had.
When we brought Jackson he was muzzled, we entered the house he barked a little bit but nothing major. Since bringing him home we have come to the realisation that he only likes being with one person (my gramps).
He’s VERY protective and doesn’t like it when anyone else enters the house/leaves the house but he’s settled and content when he’s alone with my gramps. He is 100% a one-man dog so needs to be rehomed with one man ONLY. It’s sad that he was brought up in such a bad way because he would be a gorgeous companion otherwise!
He will be an amazing security dog as long as he’s only handled by 1 person, his aggression has made a massive impact on mine and my gramps relationship as I’ve not seen him since the 1st week of getting the dog.
Jackson is based in Chippenham, Wiltshire.
